When to turn a PDF into JPG
Plenty of places take a picture and not a PDF. These are the usual ones.
A form that wants a JPG under a size
Visa, exam, and job portals often ask for a scanned ID or certificate as a JPG under 200 KB. Type the limit in KB and every image comes out under it, still as readable as the limit allows.
A page to send in a chat
Messages, WhatsApp, and Slack show a JPG right in the conversation, where a PDF is a file to open. Pick the one page that matters and you get that JPG on its own, with no zip around it.
A page in a slide or a document
PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides, and Word place a JPG like any picture. Sharp draws the page at 150 dpi, enough to stay crisp on a projector or a large screen.
A flyer or a menu to post
Social sites and many website builders take images, not PDFs. Save the page as a JPG and post it where the PDF would not go.
A few pages out of a long file
Leave out the pages you do not need, or type a range such as 12-15. Each image is named by its page number, so they stay in order in the zip.
No catch

Converting PDF to JPG, answered
Your files stay privateIs my file uploaded anywhere?+
No. Your PDF is read from your device and each page is rendered and saved by your browser. It never leaves your computer or phone.
Is it free to convert a PDF to JPG here?+
Yes. There is no watermark, no page limit, and no account. The pages are drawn by your browser, so there is nothing for us to charge for.
What do I get?+
One JPG per page, numbered by page, inside a zip. If you pick a single page you get that one JPG on its own, with no zip around it.
What resolution are the images?+
Sharp is 150 dpi, crisp on a phone, in a chat, in a slide, and on paper at the page's own size. A text page comes out around 20 KB. Small is 72 dpi for when the bytes matter more than zooming in, and Print is 300 dpi for paper.
An upload form wants a JPG under 200 KB. Can I do that?+
Yes. Type 200 in the size limit and every image comes out under it. The quality is lowered first, and only if that is not enough is the picture made smaller, so it stays as readable as the limit allows.
Can I convert only some pages?+
Yes. Every page starts picked. Click a page to leave it out, shift click to change a run, or type ranges like 1-3, 7, 12-15.
Why JPG and not PNG?+
JPG is small, opens everywhere, and is what upload forms ask for, which suits photos, scans, and most pages. For text with sharp edges, diagrams, a transparent background, or an exact pixel size, use the PDF to PNG tool.
Does it work on iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows?+
Yes. It runs in any current browser, Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox, on a computer, a phone, or a tablet. There is nothing to install and no account to make.
Is there a file size limit?+
No. There is no set limit and no daily cap. Your own device does the work, and files of a few hundred megabytes are fine on a laptop.
