Split a PDF
Split a PDF into separate files by page range, every few pages, or by file size. Free, no upload, runs in your browser.
How to split a PDF
Three steps, and your file stays on your device the whole time.
- 1
Drop a PDF into the drop box
Or click to browse for it. Nothing is uploaded.
- 2
Click the scissors where each file should end
Or type page ranges, split every few pages, or set a size per file.
- 3
Click Split and download the files
Several files come in one zip. A single file comes as a plain PDF.
When to split a PDF
One PDF often holds more than one thing, or more than one place will take. These are the usual ones.
A file too big to email
Choose By size and type the limit, such as 20 MB for Outlook. Each part holds as many whole pages as fit under it, and no page is ever cut.
A stack scanned as one file
A feeder scan of a pile of letters or invoices ends up as one long PDF. Click the scissors after the last page of each, and every document comes out as its own file.
Chapters or sections
Type a range per part, such as 1-12, 13-40, 41-. Each range becomes its own PDF, named by its pages, and a range left open runs to the end.
One PDF per page
Choose Fixed count and leave it at 1. A batch of one page forms or certificates becomes one file each, numbered in order, in a zip.
Parts of the same length
Set Fixed count to 10 or 50 to share a long document in equal parts. The last part holds whatever pages are left.
No catch
Split as many PDFs as you like
Cut one file in two or a thousand pages into parts. There is no daily limit and nothing to sign up for, and your file stays on your computer or phone.
