When to watermark a PDF
A watermark says what a copy is, or whose it is, on every page. These are the usual reasons to add one.
A confidential document
Mark a contract, a report, or a price list CONFIDENTIAL, so nobody mistakes a copy for something to pass around.
A draft that must not pass as final
DRAFT across every page keeps an early version from being signed, printed, or quoted as the real one.
Your logo on your work
Choose a PNG or JPG of your logo. A PNG with a clear background lets the page show around it, and the image is stored once however many pages show it.
A copy for one person
Put a name across the pages, such as Copy for Alex Kim, and a copy that turns up where it should not says whose it was.
Pages that cannot be cropped clean
Repeated draws the text at nine places, three across and three down, so no part of the page can be cut out without it.

Yes. Switch the watermark to Image and choose a PNG, JPG, or any picture your browser can open. A PNG with a clear background keeps the page visible around the logo. The image is stored in the PDF once, however many pages show it.
Can I repeat the watermark across the page?+
Yes. Repeated draws the text at nine places, three across and three down, so no part of the page can be copied without it.
Can I watermark only some pages?+
Yes. Type a range such as 2-10, 15 under Pages. Leave it empty to mark every page.
What about rotated pages or pages of different sizes?+
The watermark is sized to each page and placed as you see the page, so a sideways page or a large drawing gets the same look as the rest.
Can I watermark a password protected PDF?+
Yes, if you know the password. Type it when the file is added. Tick Keep the password before saving and the watermarked PDF opens with the same one.
Does it work on iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows?+
Yes. It runs in any current browser, Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox, on a computer, a phone, or a tablet. There is nothing to install and no account to make.
Is there a file size limit?+
No. There is no set limit and no daily cap. Your own device does the work, and files of a few hundred megabytes are fine on a laptop.
